Man charged following investigation into historic sexual abuse offences

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged historic sexual abuse of kids in the state’s Hawkesbury area through the 1980s.

Detectives connected to Hawkesbury Police Area Command established Strike Force Twill in October 2022, following a variety of reviews of alleged child sex abuse that occurred at a holiday park in Wisemans Ferry.

Police have been informed between the years 1982 and 1987, a resident of a holiday park allegedly sexually assaulted numerous young boys.

Following in depth inquiries, investigators arrested a 60-year-old man in Wisemans Ferry, about 9am Thursday (20 July 2023).

He was charged with 22 baby sexual assault offences and one rely of common assault.


He was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday (21 July 2023), to reappear at the similar court docket on Friday 29 September 2023.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anybody who could possibly assist detectives, together with anyone who holidayed in the space at the moment and witnessed suspicious behaviour.
